“As college becomes more expensive, funding becomes more scarce. The Philadelphia Chapter Scholarship has made a significant difference in helping me finance college”
-Eric Scott-Murphy, 2010 Scholarship Winner

Over 62% of the jobs in Philadelphia require some type of post-secondary education or technical training. There is an obvious need for post-secondary education to compete globally, but during a time of increasing tuition rates and higher demand for financial aid. The Chapter recognizes this challenging time and has committed to raising $50,000 over the next five years to support eager new Penn State students from the Philadelphia area!

 Current Scholarship Opportunities

Each year, the Philadelphia Chapter rewards two current freshmen at any Penn State campus with $1,000 scholarships.

The Scholarship Committee reviewed many excellent applications and the final winners were Ms. Trang Dang and Ms. Faye McMillan. Ms. Trang Dang is currently attending the Brandywine campus and is majoring in electrical engineering. Ms. Faye McMillan attends the University Park campus and is majoring in behavioral health.

We are very proud of our award recipients and wish them both the best as they continue to pursue their Penn State degrees.
