Finish Line Event

Date: September 15, 2012

Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Place: Registration will be at the Cosmic Cafe at Lloyd Hall (1 Boathouse Row, Philadelphia, PA 19130)

The Finish Line Team will be running/walking 3, 5, or 10 miles- it’s your choice! Register today!

Remember, all registration fees and donations to will go to The Four Diamonds Fund. Even a simple contribution of $25 and one mile, will make a priceless and immeasurable difference in the life of a child and a Four Diamonds’ family. Thank you for your support!

Join Philadelphia Team captains, Ami Patel, Christina Moresi and Kim Linden, virtually by pledging miles to be completed at your own pace by September 15th from where ever you are AND/OR on the morning of September 15th, at the Cosmic Cafe at Lloyd Hall and team up to collectively (or walk, sprint, hop, skip…) the remaining 3, 5 or 10 miles (it’s your choice) towards our collective goal of 135 miles to support The Four Diamonds Fund. Can’t join the team but still want to be a part of the Virtual Hope Express? Donations are welcome! Non-running volunteers are also needed.

Each participant will have a $25 registration fee which can be donated online. Anyone wanting to make a donation of $25 to a particular team can do so here.

We ask that those wishing to join the Philadelphia Team register by September 7th. Runners/walkers will have the option of completing 3, 5 or 10 miles. We are also looking for volunteers/Morale to support the runners. Volunteers/Morale can register (if you wish to donate $25) and/or RSVP with Ami, Christina or Kim to support the team with registration and motivation.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME!

If you want to join the Philadelphia Team, but cannot make the Finish Line Event on September 15th, email us and we can coordinate how you can contribute miles before the finish line date.

The Hope Express is a 135-mile run created to bridge the gap between the families on the 7th floor at the Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA and the Dancers at the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (aka THON), a year round fundraising event benefiting The Four Diamonds Fund, Conquering Childhood Cancer.

Why September 15?

The Hope express now entering its 7th year wanted to have a date that signified the significance of what our charity is all about. The founders, Connie and Hank Angus felt that September 15th was the perfect day because it was on September 15, 2004 that their son Gabriel was diagnosed with leukemia. To date the Hope Express has raised more than $150,000 for the Four Diamonds Fund in Hershey, PA.
